| This Northern Plains Beaded Hide Chiefs Shirt is constructed of tanned and whitened hide, with open sides, overlaid across the shoulder and down the arms with flat beaded panels, each stitched in bright green, dark blue, greasy yellow and translucent red over a white background, with pairs of stylized horseshoe an tipis, alternating with "bearclaw" bar elements. The triangular bibs on the neck each decorated with a single horseshoe and concentric design: trimmed with rows of long pendants (many worn), wrapped with white winter ermine, tufts of dark animals hair and human hair, and bound with red wool cloth, some with tufts of pale pink or deep blue commercial wool yarn.
